1. Information We Collect

TRU LOAD (“we”, “our”, “the Platform”) collects information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

Information You Provide

• Account information: name, email, phone, password
• Professional information: CDL number, DOT/MC number, truck details
• Financial information: Stripe payment details (processed by Stripe, not stored by us)
• Documents: CDL images, BOL scans, receipts, inspection reports
• Voice data: voice commands processed through “Hey Tru Load” (transcripts stored, audio deleted after processing)

Information Collected Automatically

• GPS location data (only when the app is active and you have loads)
• Device information, IP address, browser type
• Usage data: features used, loads viewed, voice commands issued
• Hours of Service logs and driving patterns

2. How We Use Your Information

• Match you with loads based on your truck, location, and preferences
• Process payments and detention pay through Stripe
• Track Hours of Service for FMCSA compliance
• Generate IFTA reports and tax estimates
• Provide voice assistant functionality
• Send notifications about loads, detention, and safety alerts
• Improve our AI matching and voice systems
• Detect fraud and ensure platform security

3. GPS and Location Data

We collect GPS data to provide core platform features including load matching, geofence-based detention tracking, IFTA mileage logging, and ETA calculations. GPS data is collected only when you have active loads or have opted into location-based features. You can disable GPS tracking in your device settings, but this will limit platform functionality.

4. Voice Data

When you use “Hey Tru Load” voice commands, your speech is transcribed using Web Speech API (on-device) or OpenAI Whisper (server-side fallback). We store the text transcript and AI response for service improvement. Raw audio is deleted after transcription. You can view your voice history and request deletion at any time.

5. Data Sharing

We share your information only as follows:

• Shippers/Carriers: Name, truck type, rating, and ETA when you accept a load
• Stripe: Payment processing (Stripe's privacy policy applies)
• Anthropic: Anonymized voice transcripts for AI processing
• FMCSA: Compliance data when legally required
• Facility scores: Detention data is aggregated anonymously — your name is never attached

We never sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party.

6. Data Retention

• Account data: retained while your account is active
• Load history: retained for 7 years (tax compliance)
• Voice transcripts: retained for 90 days, then deleted
• GPS breadcrumbs: retained for 1 year
• Financial records: retained for 7 years (IRS requirements)

7. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of all your data
• Correction: Update inaccurate information
• Deletion: Request account and data deletion
• Export: Download your data in a portable format
• Opt-out: Disable specific data collection features

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including: encryption in transit (TLS 1.3), encryption at rest, bcrypt password hashing, JWT token rotation, two-factor authentication, audit logging, and regular security assessments. Financial data is processed exclusively through PCI-compliant Stripe.
